1u Swing Out Hinge Mount for Patch Panels

The leaf of these hinges that contains simple holes will be fastened by screws into the rack rails where you want your rack panel positioned. The other leaf contains a series of holes, each of which has a nut fastened to the "inside" of it. You close the hinge, then use regular rack screws to fasten your rack panel to the nuts. Note that once installed to the hinges, the rack panel when closed will extend from the rack roughly half an inch. This shouldn't cause a problem closing the door on your rack, but you should be aware of this since anything plugged into a jack on your panel will now also extend an additional half inch. You open the panel by removing all the screws attaching the panel to the hinge on one side. You can then swing the panel open on the remaining hinge. If you plan on doing this frequently, you may want to use thumbscrews on one side of the panel rather than standard rack screws. The hinges are sturdy and feel solid once installed. I find them quite satisfactory and would order them again as the need arises.
